Turkey in a Crockpot

Not enough oven room on Thanksgiving day,? This is a day old problem. With this nifty trick, you can cook a small turkey in your crockpot and free up all that precious oven space for all your other holiday favorites. Give it a try. - Michele

Ingredients and Materials:

Crockpot Liner (optional) to line the crockpot for easy clean up
10-12 lb Turkey (thawed)
4 TB of softened butter
1/2 cup chicken broth or water mixed with bouillon

Line the crockpot with the liner and place the turkey in the crockpot. Press the softened butter all over the top of the turkey. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the crockpot. In a separate container, mix the following seasoning rub.

Seasoning Rub:
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Mix to combine and sprinkle the rub all over the bird. Cover and cook for 6 1/2 hours on low.
