Inside hell of liberated Kherson as Ukraine investigates Russian shelling

THE SUN followed Ukraine’s special forces in their hunt for Russian stragglers in liberated Kherson — as Russian shelling pounded the city.

Police forces searched the docks for sleeper cells and booby-traps while residents got back to their lives after nine months of enemy occupation.

The city is strained by power and water outage and thousands are braving freezing temperatures to queue for food hand-outs, as most shops are shuttered.
