First Aid:Many cat owners foolishly

First Aid:Many cat owners foolishly neglect to train their cat in the basics of first aid. It is a common misconception that because cats are unable to perform CPR or mouth-to-mouth they are useless in a health emergency. While your cat might never be able to perform the Heimlich on you, that doesn’t mean that they can’t provide other potentially life-saving assistance! When it comes to treating minor cuts as well as certain more serious injuries, a furry feline is practically a medical kit all by themselves. Cat saliva has a natural healing agent, and training your kitty to lick minor cuts and scrapes could help stave off a potentially lethal infection. And virtually all cats are innately skilled at reviving humans from a state of deep unconsciousness simply by standing on the victim’s chest and meowing loudly until they’re fed; in no time at all the unconscious person will be upright and reaching for the can opener. There is really no excuse for not teaching your cat how to administer first aid, both for their benefit and yours. There may come a day when your survival depends on your cat: do you dare risk a situation where you need your cat to apply a tourniquet and stitch the wound, but they don’t know how to do anything besides bat the spool of thread around playfully? Not teaching your cat first aid is unfurgivably irresponsible!
