With the great horned owls returning, it only seemed a matter of time before they crossed paths. A few of the raccoons have a habit of going up to the nest to play, sleep, and enjoy the view. It appears that great horned owls don't tolerate intruders into their territory with much humor.

A few nights ago, a young raccoon was up in the nest going about her business when one of the owls noticed her and was not amused. The owl swooped in at breakneck speed and used his talons to snag the hapless raccoon in the butt. The raccoon received a terrible shock.
