Spiraea thunbergii is the oldest species of flowering shrub. In the month of April, the flowers of these shrubs bloom in white and are small in size - before the leaves of the bushes open. This shrub originates from China and Japan and bears narrow sized leaves that form dense, somewhat compact leaves.
