First Look: 2023 Porsche 911

Only 2,500 of the 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar vehicles will be produced over the following two years, and they are already equipped for extreme rallies and extreme off-road adventures. The Dakar, dubbed a "road car with an off-road heart," is both a homage vehicle and a fresh take on the 911. When a specially modified 953 won the grueling, 14,000-kilometer Paris-to-Dakar race in 1984, Porsche shocked the motorsport world. Two years later, a 959 model won the same event. Those recognizable blue and white off-road vehicles, sponsored by Rothmans, went down in Dakar history, and Porsche began selling all-wheel drive 911s.
