Canada: MPs discuss protection of workers' pension plans – November 18, 2022

Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill about her private member's bill (C-228) aimed at protecting workers' pension plans during bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. She is joined by MPs Daniel Blaikie (NDP) and Gabriel Ste-Marie (Bloc Québécois). She also voices her concerns with the House Speaker's ruling to exclude an amendment to her bill that was adopted by the House of Commons finance committee during clause-by-clause consideration of C-228. The amendment would have protected termination and severance pay in case of bankruptcy.
