Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been granted immunity by the US in a lawsuit against him over the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The announcement has been condemned by Khashoggi's family and friends.

In 2018, Jamal Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul following his public criticisms of its government.

The lawsuit was bought against Mohammed bin Salman after a document declassified by the Biden administration in 2021 revealed the crown prince was in some way complicit in the murder of Mr Khashoggi.
