If you come across someone blaming inflation or any kind of price increases on “corporate greed”, I want you to ask them this one question. By asking this question, you will open up a pathway that, assuming they’re open minded and willing to listen, will bring a whole lot of clarity to their understanding of the topic. I understand. When prices go up everyone feels it and it is very easy to let emotions take over and throw accusations around. Unfortunately, as they normally do, emotions cause people to create blind spots in their logic and force them to rely heavily on confirmation bias within their own thinking. Let’s talk some basic economics and how asking a single and simple question can establish common ground and point us in the right direction of actual solutions.
