DOJ to ask SCOTUS to reinstate Biden’s student debt relief plan following GOP taking the House

The Justice Department indicated in a court filing Thursday that it plans to ask the Supreme Court to reinstate the Biden administration’s student debt relief program. Efforts to rein in the program are likely to become more difficult for the Biden Administration with a GOP-led House. GOP lawmakers were quick to oppose the program when it was announced, arguing it wasn’t fair to individuals who paid off their student loan debt or taxpayers who never went to college.
