India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Africa, Kenya and Namibia abstained from voting.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution on Thursday calling on Russia to abandon the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, according to the agency’s official website.

"[The Board of Governors] deplores and does not recognize the Russian Federation’s attempts to take ownership of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (the Zaporozhye NPP - TASS) and its attempted illegal annexation of the Ukrainian territory on which the plant is located and calls upon the Russian Federation to immediately abandon its baseless claims of ownership of the plant," the statement said.

According to the Russian permanent mission in Vienna, Russia and China voted against the resolution, while India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Africa, Kenya and Namibia abstained from voting.

Only two states cast their votes against the adoption of the resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors on nuclear security in Ukraine. These countries were named by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to International Organizations in Vienna.

The resolution was adopted on Thursday, November 17, during a meeting of the Agency's Board of Governors. The document states that IAEA experts allegedly did not find traces of the manufacture of a "dirty bomb" in Ukraine. In addition, the agency issued its "recommendations" to Moscow regarding the ZNPP.

"An unprofessional drafted resolution, which goes beyond the Agency's mandate and contains factual errors, was adopted on issues of nuclear safety, security and safeguards in Ukraine. This is another step towards the politicization of the work of the IAEA," the permanent mission emphasized in its Telegram channel.
