Part One - Sumner County Schools book review concerns, my takeaways

The book A Place Inside of Me was challenged by a parent and had to be voted on by the school board. It was picked up on the picture book shelf by a 6 year old. The concerns are age inappropriateness and the leftist political propaganda it contains. It’s believed it possibly violates state law. In this Part 1 video, it’s evident that the issue is not about race, but about a fundamental difference of political ideology. In addition to this wonderful speaker, who was being told how she should feel by a white liberal, a common occurrence, there was also a speaker in opposition of the book who shared that she's married to a black man. Another speaker in opposition said she has two black grandchildren & pleaded that books not be allowed that TEACHES they should see her differently. This book was voted 7-3 to remain on the shelf in Sumner County.
