Thousands of people joined a rally in Prague on Thursday to demand Czech President Milos Zeman dismiss the government and to protest against rising energy prices and sending weapons to Ukraine, on the anniversary of the start of the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The footage shows the protesters marching from the main train station to Czech Television headquarters, with a prepared stage and the purpose to appear live on air. Pro-Ukrainian demonstrators gathered in front of the National Museum building while the protest was marching through but there were no tensions. The Czech Republic which currently holds the rotating EU presidency has been one of Ukraine's staunchest supporters in Europe. The rally organisers have listed the dismissal of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and putting 'Czech Republic first' among their demands. The Velvet Revolution in then-Czechoslovakia marked the end of the one-party government, leading to elections the following year.

Die Samtene Revolution in der damaligen Tschechoslowakei markierte das Ende der Ein-Parteien-Regierung und führte im folgenden Jahr zu Wahlen.

Tisíce lidí se ve čtvrtek v Praze v den výročí sametové revoluce v roce 1989 zúčastnily shromáždění, na kterém požadovaly odvolání vlády a protestovaly proti zvyšování cen energií a posílání zbraní na Ukrajinu. Na záběrech je vidět, jak protestující pochodují od hlavního nádraží k sídlu České televize s připraveným pódiem a s cílem vystoupit v přímém přenosu. Během protestního pochodu se před budovou Národního muzea shromáždili proukrajinští demonstranti, ale k žádnému napětí nedošlo. Česká republika, která v současné době rotujícím způsobem předsedá EU, je jedním z nejvěrnějších podporovatelů Ukrajiny v Evropě. Organizátoři shromáždění mezi svými požadavky uvedli odvolání českého premiéra Petra Fialy a uvedení "Česka na prvním místě". Sametová revoluce v tehdejším Československu znamenala konec vlády jedné strany a vedla k volbám v následujícím roce.

Les images montrent les manifestants marchant de la gare principale jusqu'au siège de la télévision tchèque, avec une scène préparée dans le but d'apparaître en direct à l'antenne. Des manifestants pro-ukrainiens se sont rassemblés devant le bâtiment du Musée national pendant le passage de la manifestation, mais il n'y a pas eu de tensions. La République tchèque, qui assure actuellement la présidence tournante de l'UE, est l'un des plus fervents soutiens de l'Ukraine en Europe. Les organisateurs du rassemblement ont énuméré parmi leurs revendications le renvoi du Premier ministre tchèque Petr Fiala et la mise en avant de la "République tchèque". La révolution de velours en Tchécoslovaquie a marqué la fin du gouvernement à parti unique et a conduit à des élections l'année suivante.
