ANU Emeritus Faculty Annual Lecture for 2022: Professor Peter Collignon AM
COVID-19: Where were we? Where are we now? What do we need to learn so we do better in the future?
A novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, causes COVID-19. This virus spreads easily from person to person but almost entirely via infectious particles that deposit in the upper respiratory tract.
Different interventions can be and have been used to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19.
Lockdowns, border closures and restrictions slowed the spread of the virus, but have also caused many adverse, unintended consequences.
Overall, we are in a much better position than in 2021.
Join Professor Peter Collignon AM, an Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist at ACT Pathology and Canberra Hospital, in the ANU Emeritus Faculty Annual Lecture.
