G20 Leaders ‘Deplore’ Russia’s War in Ukraine A joint statement made by world leaders at the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine by stating it “deplores in the strongest terms the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demands its complete withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine” further stating that the war is a violation of the country’s territorial integrity and that it has caused immense human suffering as well as exacerbated existing fragilities in the global economy . Indonesian President Joko Widodo said that “ this war has caused massive public suffering and also jeopardized the global economy that is still vulnerable from the pandemic, which also caused risks for food and energy crisis, as well as financial crisis.” The statement followed an emergency meeting between G7 and NATO members to discuss the missile explosion in Poland.
