Some of us experience this revolting feeling of self on a daily basis, while others do so only sporadically. The unpleasant sensation is sometimes a lingering embarrassment brought on by a dread that some humiliating detail about us will become known to the public or that we'll look silly or incompetent in a public setting.
The sensation of shrivelling up inside as a result of feeling awful, undeserving, faulty, and defective is a typical form of sorrow. Such people may live their lives expecting to be seen negatively by others. They anticipate that they could at any time be shown to be a fraud or imposter.
We can be persuaded psychologically and emotionally that this suffering, which comes from within our mind, represents some dreadful imperfection or abhorrent flaw at the very foundation of our being.
As a result, we could find it difficult to develop close friendships and loving relationships since we don't feel deserving of such things. "I don't care to belong to a group that accepts people like me as members," said Groucho Marx.
