So thanks to the audience I know how to operate this plane without blowing up the engine. Basically, its just like flying the P40 in IL-2 Great Battles. Ie you need to know the engine operating limits (here: https://www.theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/wiki/doku.php?id=bf109e1 ) and then when flying every 10 seconds look at the Engine RPM gauge and make sure the RPM has not exceeded the limit you want. For example as air speed increases, so too does the Engine RPM. So especially in a dive, but also just in straight and level flight as the speed picks up the Engine RPM will climb by it self. If you're looking at it every 10 seconds, you'll be able to adjust the needle down as needed. Finally, in a climb you'll (especially in combat), you'll need to increase Engine RPM. Its a high cockpit workload, but the alternative is a broken engine. The last flight is the perfect operation of the engine so start there.
