Hard Luck Canyon | Explore Alberta's Hidden Gem

Hey everyone this video is about a little Hidden gem a couple hours North West of Edmonton Alberta Canada. Nestled in the boreal forest just a short distance from Whitecourt Alberta you will find the majestic Hard Luck Canyon. As you drive down the backroads into the country side you will watch the scenery transform right before your eyes. You would have absolutely no idea that this beautiful canyon lies before you!
Carved by Hard Luck Creek through the sandstone layers of the Paskapoo Formation, Hard Luck Canyon is a unique geological feature and a must visit if you are in the Area.
Just a short walk through the forest you will come to the cliff edge that overlooks the canyon walls. The rocks you see exposed at Hard Luck Canyon are over 55 million years old after the age of the dinosaurs.
The bridge spans the falls, which are fed from a beaver pond that usually overflows in the springtime. Venture down the series of stairs and dirt pathways to the canyon floor to get a closer look at Hard Luck Creek and the moss covered canyon walls. The canyon is truly a magical place with the towering cliffs, the trickle of the creek and of course the cascading falls.
Hard Luck Canyon is not an official Waterfall as the creek does not flow all summer, so we recommend visiting in spring or after we have had a significant amount of rain.
