Koala is one of the typical marsupials from Australia and is the only representative of the Phascolarctidae family. The word koala comes from the Dharug language, one of the indigenous Australian languages which means no water or can also be interpreted as not drinking.
In a day, a koala can sleep for 18 to 22 hours. The remaining two hours are spent looking for food and if they fail to find eucalyptus leaves, they will crawl back up the tree trunk and go back to sleep.
