The Madera County Sheriff's Office released a critical incident video following an August 12th officer-involved shooting.

The video is from deputy body-worn cameras and from the in-car dash camera.

It began around 10:45 p.m. when Sergeant Nicholas Davis made contact with a man possibly carrying a baseball bat in the area of Krohn and Ellis Streets in Madera.

Sergeant Davis drove up to the man identified as 46-year-old Timothy John Bray who was carrying a large metal bicycle pump.

Bray motioned with the pump for Davis to go around.

Bray started walking away so Davis got out of the car and followed.

Bray refuses to surrender and repeatedly swears at Davis and takes off running.

He then turns and charges at Sergeant Davis with the bicycle pump raised in a fighting position so Davis fires his service weapon.

An ambulance was called and deputies provided medical care.

A methamphetamine pipe was found in Bray's pocket.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment and arrested for felony charges of resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon.
