Exploring Cinderella Christmas Lights - Including Super Rare Versions! | Archive Exploration 002

Welcome to the Vintage Christmas Lights UK YouTube Channel.

Another dive into our Archive, this time it is about Pifco Cinderella Christmas Lights, when they came out, when they ended, the styles, colours and variations.

I acknowledge that the set of 12 lights were not originally Pifco Cinderella Lights, but Pifco Christmas Fairy Coach Lights, Set No: 1282, the sets of 20 Cinderella Lights are Set No: 1298.

As for the white coaches, these could possibly have been made prior to Pifco in China for the US market, and Pifco got the original manufacturer to make them with coloured windows for the UK market, who knows!

A little 'light' history.

The early 90's were the beginning of the end for 'classic' style Christmas light sets, new manufacturing and safety laws saw the delicate thinner cables replaced with thick and bulky black cables for 240v sets of lights making them look cumbersome and chunky, NOMA still produce some 'classic style' sets of lights, identical to the late 80's lights but unfortunately with this thick cable.

Over the years, Christmas lights have been replaced with characterless, shadeless sets of lights, then eventually the domination of LED lights.

We do hope that one of the legacy firms like PIFCO or NOMA bring back the classic style lights, perhaps in low voltage LED form in sets of 20 and 40, and possibly 60-100 too with the old style shades, a mix and match option would be brilliant.
