Robert Pszczel, senior fellow at the Casimir Pulaski Foundation and former Polish diplomat, has said Poland was "not going for any kind of escalation" following a missile strike on its soil.
Speaking to Sky's Kay Burley from Warsaw, Mr Pszczel said NATO is still "far away" from triggering Article 5.
He went on to say that "nobody was interested in escalation" but at the same time "this cannot go on".
