While doing our own renovations, we have begun to meet others who have also been in their own process of renovation. Emily Adams, and her husband Paulus, have a special story since she had decided to come back home to Brooktondale (in the Finger Lakes) to be closer to her father, Barry. While living in Europe, she saw how generations were closer—both as family and community—and wondered if she could foster that at home. She decided to renovate her childhood home to be closer to her father and stitch their homes together to help her dad age comfortably in place.
