The most prevalent form of idolatry in Bible times was the worship of images that were thought to house the various pagan deities. Now today, we might think it silly and ridiculous to bow down to carved images; so what do modern forms of idols look like in our day and how can we recognize and guard against idolatry in our own hearts? Pastor Austin reviews 5 questions we each should ask ourselves to help spot idolatry in our lives.

1. What excessively consumes all or most of my time during the day?
2. What has an unreasonable amount of my attention?
3. Do I consistently seek this thing as a source of peace, comfort or relief?
4. Do I go to it for help before I run to God?
5. What have I allowed to come between me and my relationship with Jesus?
