SAT Lesson 1 Practice Problems: Combining Variables (SAT review)

This video demonstrates a part of Lesson 1 from our SAT math boot camp, showing you how to combine variables with different operations. Adding subtracting multiplying and dividing variables is a necessary math skill to succeed on the SAT.

Adding/Subtracting: combine the coefficients only if you have an exact match of variables and exponents

Multiplying: Always multiply the coefficients, but only add the exponents of matching variables

Dividing: Always divide the coefficients, but only subtract the exponents of matching variables.
