Chinese sweater makers work overtime to catch up with European orders for winter

Chinese sweater factories have been humming with activity lately, partly to fulfill increased orders from Europe, as an energy crisis looms.

Puyuan Town in eastern China is the heartland of the country's sweater industry.

In September, the town's largest sweater market posted a 30-percent month-on-month increase, with a transaction volume of about 1.7 billion U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, designers are creating new clothes to incorporate the latest trends.
