Bring Back My Historic Counties - Podcast #16 - Pam Moorhouse & Gerard Dugdill

Pam Moorhouse has never liked the 1974 changes to the boundaries of the UK counties, especially the renaming of them. The county where she was born does not exist any longer and she feels this is a loss of our history. So she started a campaign to bring them back and save our history.

British Counties Campaign followed in 2017, at the suggestion of Bryan Gregory, of Warrington, Lancs. BCC aims to get a bill through parliament and support Pam’s petition. Please watch our introductory 10-minute video: https://britishcounties.org/video/

The three main aims of BCC are:

· To have just one type of county, the traditional cone
· To use the traditional counties for all ceremonial and historic functions
· To remove any confusing clashes between the names of service areas and the counties.

They have also set up a business, County Business Ltd (in construction), which will act as directory of organisations according to traditional county and provide an information resource. Look out for County Week, our weekly bulletin.
