Zelensky tells G20 that Russia’s war in Ukraine must be stopped

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told world leaders at the G20 on November 15 that Russia’s war must be stopped.

In his speech, which was made from Ukraine and streamed to the summit, Zelensky said, “I am convinced now is the time when the Russian destructive war must and can be stopped.”

He said Ukraine should not be asked to compromise its “conscience, sovereignty, territory and independence”.
He outlined several proposals to ease or end suffering as a result of the war in Ukraine, including asking for an indefinite extension to a grain export deal and an expansion of the deal to other ports.

Zelensky also requested additional military aid and a forced limitation of energy export prices from Russia.
He said Russia must immediately withdraw from the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and transfer control of the plant to the International Atomic Energy Agency and Ukrainian personnel.
