Meet Cute Hazel and Jackie - Two Adorable Photo Bombers When Filming In A Bat Aviary

Trying to film whilst working in a bat aviary has its challenges. A lot depends on the time of day, and whether they've just had a sugar hit, like having been given mango seeds to lick, or beautiful melaleuca blossom nectar in fresh browse.

Dusk is not a great time as they get quite active, almost hyperactive. And super curious. Some just want to crawl over you, others want to hang off you, and some just want to grab your camera! Aaargh!

PS. They are all actually very gentle creatures.
PPS. And yes, we are all fully Covid and ABLV vaccinated (anyone who handles flying foxes should be vaccinated against ABLV - Australian Bat Lyssa Virus).
