Bearing in mind that Dr Coleman had already been speaking out against the government line on Covid-19 for almost a year at this point, how foretelling are these words now? And yet, “conspiracy theorist” they cried.

I feel it’s important to acknowledge the bravery of the doctors, scientists and medical professionals that have stepped forward during the past two and a half years - often at great personal sacrifice - in defense of the truth.

The Covid-19 saga, one would hope, has taught many lessons to a great many people. One among many for the BBC though - don’t tick off an old man in a chair…
