World Health Day to observed with ‘Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere’ theme today

World Health Day is a global health awareness day. With an aim to spread awareness about health and well being, the first ever World Health Day was observed in 1948 by the WHO. Since that day, 7th April is observed as the World Health Day every year. This year, the theme is Universal Health Coverage (UHC): everyone, everywhere. It is an opportunity for UHC2030 partners to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage. It will ensure that everyone, everywhere should have access to essential quality of health services. As this year is WHO’s 70th Anniversary year, the organization has appealed to the world leaders to live up to the pledges they made in the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015
