When do you think Revelation 9 might take place?
I have had a deep revelatory insight about myself this morning, that is reminiscent of Revelation 9.
At some point in life we will encounter the "angel" of Revelation 9 who will come and open our "bottomless pit" and release the "locusts" upon the earth, or into our conscious awareness.
This will cause a time of great #tribulation for the #soul and the "smoke" will hide the light of day (clear cognition) for a period of time.
1 Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. 2 When he opened it, smoke poured out as though from a huge furnace, and the sunlight and air turned dark from the smoke.
And this release might come in different forms. My personal "bottomless pit" is a pit that hadn't been opened for nearly 50 years... I am talking about my emotional abyss. I have never had anyone come into my life to open this up until now... and my "locusts" are causing great disturbance and pain, not only to myself but to others.
There is an interesting definition for the name #apollyon , the king of that bottomless pit from the Metaphysical Dictionary.
#devil (see proper names: #abaddon , APOLLYON, #beelzebub , BELIAL, #satan ), called
Abaddon and Apollyon, Rev. 9:11; Beelzebub, Matt. 12:24; Belial, II Cor. 6:15-Satan, Luke 10:18 (A.
S. V.)--false accuser; calumniator; slanderer; liar.
Metaphysical. Same as Satan, which see. The "devil" signifies the mass of thoughts that have been built up in consciousness through many generations of earthly experiences and crystallised into what may be termed human personality, or carnal mind.
Another name of the "devil" is sense consciousness; all the thoughts in one that fight against and are adverse to Truth belong to the state of mind that is known to Metaphysical physicians as the Devil.
Devil, how to overcome the--The Devil is overcome by denying his existence and by affirming universal Christ love for God and all men. The devils that we encounter are fear, anger, jealousy, and other similar negative traits, and they are in ourselves. Christ gives us the power to cast out these devils, thereby cleansing our consciousness.
