Nashville, Tennessee – On November 12, 2022, Nashville Police shot a man who charged at them with a knife. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. near the Davidson and Cheatham County line. Police received several 911 calls about a man on the side of the road, throwing things at cars and waving what appeared to be a weapon at passing vehicles. When officers arrived, they found the man, who appeared to be visibly distraught, yelling at officers as they asked what he’s doing. About a minute after the officers arrived, bodycam video shows the man pulled a knife on officers and charged toward one of them. Officers deployed a Taser that proved ineffective. As the man continues to run at one of the officers, bodycam video shows he is shot several times. Officers rendered aid to the man until medics arrived. He died at the scene.
