1834 World Chess Championship [Match 3, Game 9] - On the ropes?

In this video, we go through the ninth game of the third 1834 match between Louis-Charles Mahé de La Bourdonnais and Alexander McDonnell.

McDonnell is under a lot of pressure, La Bourdonnais only needs to win one more game to take the third match, whereas McDonnell needs four in a row - he is very much on the ropes!
Does McDonnell have it in him to make a comeback, or is this the end?

Another wild battle between the two chess greats, featuring the Queen's Gambit opening.
