Ukraine has said that it was building a reinforced concrete wall and other fortifications along the border with Belarus, a Russian ally. Ukrainian Presidential advisor Kyrylo Tymoshenko said a 3 km barbed-wire-topped wall had been built on the border with Belarus. He added that sandbags and trenches have also been used and other work is also underway in the region.
