“Repentance is the Cure”
16th in our series the Prophet Zephaniah

I. The Ears which Do not Hear - Zephaniah 3:1-2
* A. The Voice of God is the Word of God
* 1. We must measure all truth claims by the Word of God
* 2. Prove all things - 1 Thessalonians 5:21
* B. Jesus calls to those who have "ears to hear” 
* 1. The problem is what we call selective listening
* 2. Hearing issues always produce disobedience 
* C. Truth perishes among a people that will not hear the Word of God - Jeremiah 7:28 

II. The Heart which rejects Correction - Zephaniah 3:2
* A. The love of God is demonstrated by correction of His children - Proverbs 3:11-12 
* 1. It is a matter of life and death - Proverbs 15:10
* 2. The refusal is stubborn rebellion - Jeremiah 5:3
*  B. The Word of God cures the stubborn heart - 2 Timothy 3:16

III. The People Who will not Trust God - Zephaniah 3:2
* A. When we trust God, we believe His Word
* B. That trusts results in obedience to His commands - Proverbs 3:5-6
* 1. The people who trust God will hear His Word
* 2. They will receive His correction, 
* 3. They believe that God always has the best interests at heart for His children - Romans 8:28-29

IV. The Soul that will not Draw near to God - Zephaniah 3:2
* A. Draw near through His Holy Word - having ears to hear
* B. Draw near to the Lord through Prayer - receiving His correction
* C. Draw near through Worship deepening trust in Him
* D. Draw near through Fellowship - Matthew 18:20
