The once every-five years Congress of China's ruling Communist Party will see a leadership overhaul, with Xi Jinping largely expected to continue serving as general secretary, China's highest office, for a third term. According to analysts at BofA Securities, "the new leadership shows more concentration in top decision-making procedure" research released on the 24th of October.

If retirement rules are maintained and the PSC stays at seven members, the Politburo Standing Committee, the highest party authority, could add three new members. The Chinese economy is weak, with policy mistakes destroying the promises of "stability" and the 5.5% growth target missing for the second time in three years.
