Why does it suit Russia to withdraw from Kherson?

Russia's withdrawal of troops from Kherson "probably suits both sides", retired Air-Vice Marshal Sean Bell has said.

Speaking on the latest scenes emerging from Kherson, the defence analyst said there was "no doubt" the recapture of Kherson was a "decisive victory".

He said: "It's great to see jubilation after eight months of Russian rule," adding that "Ukrainian forces still have a lot of cleaning up to do".
