Disney’s Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Continues to Fail in a MAJOR way
In our opening news story, Disney\s Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is turning into a massive failure. It’s been recently reported that some of the latest Starcruiser voyages have only hit 25 percent occupancy, and as a result, Disney has been cutting Cast Member hours. The Starcruiser offers a three-day, two night immersive Star Wars adventure on a fictitious cruise ship where guests become part of a conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. It includes an excursion to Batuu, themed meals, and live entertainment.

Early on, there was some positive reports after the overall kneejerk reaction from the fandom when we realized that these 3 days and 2 nights was gonna cost 6K dollars. Disney should have seen this coming, because as I just mentioned, one problem is the cost. The second problem is there doesn’t seem to be a lot of hardcore fans of the first order or the resistance. Now, reportedly, disney has been considrering adding holidays to the voyages, changing the plot, or even adjusting the timeline to allow for the inclusion of other characters. NOW, THERE’S AN IDEA. Ultimately, i think this is going to just be a failed project and, if you want to experience this, you better hurry up because i don’t believe this experience is going to be sustainable for Disney.

Team Beef has released to their patreon supporters a Quest port of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, allowing you to play Star Wars from back in its gaming glory days, in virtual reality.

In our next story, Jedi Outcast was originally released in 2002. It was a massive success. Heck, my partner here at EBN, Nick, on opening day for the game, we went straight to electronic boutique that morning, got the game, went back to his house to install it. But there was a problem, his PC wasn’t running game well. So, we ran back up to EB and picked up a new VooDoo gpu. Sped back to the house. Popped that card in, and bam! We’re playing the best star wars game in the galaxy. The dark forces series, also called the jedi knight series later, is some iconic star wars gaming. I mean, Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, force powers, the modding community, multiplayer, the games have it all. Are you listening current game developers?

Well now, you can go relive that game in a way you’d probably never thought possible in 2002. Team Beef has released a VR port for the quest, allowing you to become Kyle Katarn in virtual reality. The team has also released a port for Half Life, Quake 1, 2, and 3, the original doom, return to castle wolfenstein, and even doom 3. Holy Crap, i’m not sure I could handle Doom 3. The though of those late nights, playing in darkness, and me screaming like a girl stlil haunts me.

The Hollywood reported has confirmed that Shawn Levy will be making a Star Wars film. It is unclear when this project could happen, due to Levy’s schedule. Currently, Levy is out working of Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and that film has a release date of November 8, 2024. Levy actually told the Hollywood reporter, “If there was any doubt about my fanhood of Star Wars and all things a galaxy far, fary away, i’ve eliminated that doubt”.

This is interesting news, as just last week it was reported that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was told by her bosses to not make any star wars movie announcements until they are set in stone. Things have been quiet from Lucasfilm, in an official capacity, but this is already the 2nd leaked news concerning star wars movies that have been confirmed. It makes you wonder, is Kathy Kennedy, or someone at lucasfilm, leaking this information themselves. I’ll let you guys speculate on that, and we’ll be discussing that very thing this weekend on Saturday night during our live show.

JD Dillard’s Star Wars Movie Project is officially dead and buried.

Speaking of Star Wars movies. Back in February of 2020, it was confirmed that JD Dillard would be making a Star Wars movie. When asked recently about his star wars project, Dillard said, “Star Wars was unfortunately no longer a thing. It was not for a lack of trying.”

Now, he was asked what his star wars movie would have felt like. Dillard hesitated and measured his words carefully, then he spoke about his love of the old Lucasarts flight simulator game, Tie Fighter. Actually saying that Tie Fighter changed his life.

Man, as a fan of that game, and loving space battles, I’m very disappointed this project won’t be moving forward, and now lays in the graveyard of cancelled star wars projects under the kathy kennedy regime.
