Zoya Komsodemyanskaya was a 17-year-old girl who was hanged by the Nazis after a brutal experience on November 29, 1941. (PHOTO)
It was a symbol of suffering, sacrifice and heroism outside the borders of the USSR.

The monument to Zoya Komsodemyanskaya was demolished today in the Ukrainian city of Chernigov.
