Parrots, mamiang, or gold tinong (Gracula) are a kind of bird belonging to the Sturnidae tribe (starlings and their relatives). Its natural distribution area is from Sri Lanka, India, the Himalayas, east to the Philippines, Java to the small Sunda islands. This bird can be found in the lowlands to highlands of more than 2000m. Because of its ability to imitate human language, this bird has become a popular pet.
