Why didn't God kill David for adultery and murder?

God is known worldwide for being an exceptionally disciplined man. Disobeying your father was a capital offence, people lost their hands for cutting off the hands of others, and some forms of incest could have you burned.

However, David didn't receive any of these punishments when he slept with a married woman and killed her husband. In fact, their second son would become Israel's richest king.

I personally think this is one of the most interesting Q/As we've ever done. Hopefully, you find it as intriguing as I did.
