Various groups held a climate justice event at the UN COP27 summit in Sharm el-Sheikh on November 10. Video from one of the organizers, ESCR-Net, shows protesters wearing white after an appeal to do so by Egyptian campaigner Hossam Bahgat. Bahgat earlier tweeted the call to wear white on November 10 “in solidarity with Egyptian political prisoners”. A number of activists and journalists also joined the call to wear white, including Mona Seif, sister of imprisoned British-Egyptian activist Alaa Abd el-Fattah; Michelle Dunne, a former US diplomat; and the Egyptian Front for Human Rights, a Czech-based human rights group.
