A truck plowed into a crowd near a filling station in the Derik district of Mardin in southeastern Turkey on Saturday, killing at least 16 people and injuring 29.

Video footage captured the moment of the crash as emergency services were attending the scene of another collision, which showed the green semi-trailer mowing into vehicles and pedestrians at high speed.

According to local reports, first responders were attending to another collision when the truck lost control and drove into the crash site.

In a separate incident in the country, an additional 15 people, including emergency workers and journalists, died when a second bus crashed into an earlier collision site, according to regional governor Davut Gül from the southeastern province of Gaziantep.

Another 20 people were wounded and received treatment in this incident.
