BREAKING NEWS: Turkey Shoots Down Russian War Plane

Turkey said its fighter jets had shot down a Russian-made warplane near the Syrian border on Tuesday following repeated warnings about air space violations, but Moscow said it could prove the jet had not left Syrian air space.

The Su-24 plane violated Turkish air space despite being warned 10 times in the space of five minutes, the Turkish military said in a statement.

But the Russian defense ministry said the plane had not violated Turkish airspace and had been downed after apparently coming under fire from the ground, Interfax news agency reported.
