Bomberman Max Hikari no Yuusha or Bomberman Max Blue Champion for the Game Boy Color was released in 1999. There were 2 versions of the game with the other being Bomberman Max Yami no Senshi or Bomberman Max Red Challenger. In the Blue Champion version the player plays Bomberman whereas in the Red Challenger version the player plays as Max. The sequel to this game was released on the Game Boy Advance.
