On September 24, the V.S.U. shot down a Russian Su-34.

The pilot and navigator ejected, but the pilot broke his arm and the navigator suffered spinal damage. The Ukrainians immediately came looking for them in their cars. The navigator, armed with an APS, helped the pilot get a grenade and both decided not to surrender. However, artillery started to work on Ukrainians and they retreated. So it took the pilots about 50 km to reach their own. They made it in one piece.

Today, the navigator was awarded the Hero of Russia star. Respect and congratulations from the whole team!
