Ballots are being tallied across the US and the results could have a dramatic effect on the political landscape as Republicans seek to wrest control of Congress from President Biden's Democrats. Voters in the US are electing their representatives for Congress, as well as several governors. Exit polls show two of the top issues for voters were inflation and abortion.

The latest numbers show the Republicans will likely take the House of Representatives. US voters have been choosing lawmakers for the entire House. So far, 167 out of the 435 seats have gone to the Democrats, and 197 to the Republicans.
In the Senate race, Democrats picked up 48 seats so far - versus 48 seats for Republicans. With Vice President Kamala Harris able to cast tie-breaking votes, the Republicans would need 51 for a majority. But of course, for both chambers it's still too early to draw any conclusions. With razor-thin margins in key races, a full picture may not be available for days or even weeks
