World Environment Day 2019: Combating Air Pollution to save the Earth

World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year and aims to encourage action and awareness about the protection of the environment. It is celebrated in order to raise awareness on rising environmental issues. The day was first conceived in 1974 and has today grown to be an international platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in more than 100 countries. This year the theme is “Air Pollution”. The host country for World Environment Day 2019 is China.
