A Floating Building In Ecuador Is Bringing the Community Together

The ‘Santay Observatory’ is a multifunctional community space. The building was constructed by locals on the banks of Babahoyo, Ecuador and has since found its new home on Santay Island. The structure is a continuation of research carried out by Juan Carlos Bamba and Natura Futura on floating habitability and serves as a space for local artists, visitors and the island community.
